Have you ever watched the price of Avocado’s inflate and thought to yourself, I wish I could grow my own at home? Well, if you answered yes to any of these questions you are in for a real treat. Thanks to Avoseedo, you can!

However, having the opportunity to grow my own at home will solve this problem. The best part about it is that its a great family activity. 17 Tips That Will Help You Travel More For LessFeatured

Travel is defined as making a journey, typically of some length or abroad. I love to travel! My travel obsession started a few years ago after stumbling across a post on Facebook about how a newlywed couple sold all of their belongings to go on an indefinite Honeymoon. I read their story and became so inspired. To me, it made complete since! I’m all for experiences over things. At the time, I was traveling here and there but I wasn’t making travel a priority. As a result, my mind set changed and what I spent my money on did too.

I get asked more times than I can count, how I travel so much. They ask me if I book my own travel. People have suggested I become a Travel Agent because I travel so frequently. Some people jokingly insist that I won the lottery or that my family sells drugs! In one retrospect its flattering but in another its just down right disrespectful. KB and I work just as hard as the next couple. The difference is that we may choose to spend our money on travel first. We make time to travel. We think outside the box. We budget travel. We save. Most importantly we follow the deals!

While some people are spending their money on the latest fashions, we’re unbothered by it all. While some woman are spending hundreds of dollars for a hairdo, I either do mines myself or get a style that will last for months at a time so that I can save in this area. KB cuts his own hair always and KJ’s hair too. I may meal plan. I may only do free things around the city. I may be sporting the same hand bag I’ve had for years. You may see us on social media with the same outfit we’ve worn the last few trips but guess what, we’re there!

My advice to those desiring to travel more is to make travel a priority.Continue reading

Moms On Trend: The Hottest Fall Nail Colors You Can’t Go WithoutFeatured

I’m a big self-care advocate, especially for Mom’s. We spend our days trying to juggle so much that stepping away to pamper ourselves is absolutely necessary. You may have heard me mention on several occasions that one way to lighten our mood and have us feeling great is by adding a pop of color to our lips and nails. I’ve also mentioned how creating a regular self- care routine like painting your nails on a certain day of the week will send your confidence through the roof!

Here in Houston and other southern cities where it’s remotely warm all year around it’s easy to rock bright colors and still feel like you you’re summer time fine. However, fall is my favorite season so I like to create my own fall regardless of the temperatures by sporting colors that take me there.Continue reading

Here’s Why You’ll Never Have To Tie Your Shoes Again With HICKIESFeatured

This post was sponsored by the Hickies via US Family Guide. However, all opinions are my own.

Do you hate tying your kids’ shoes everyday before they step out of the house? Do you hate stopping to tie your own shoes mid-run? As if the world haven’t been screaming for solutions to this problem for centuries, HICKIES has finally answered our prayers! HICKIES products turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip-ons that are perfect for any activity from playdates to family walks in the park.

My daughter is ten years old and really into fashion. As a result, I understand the importance of looking stylish and HICKIES definitely helps serve this purpose. I used the colorful pair of HICKIES to turn her sneakers from just fine to just fierce! She’s also a cheerleader. She tested them out at practice and they were so convenient. I will say that they made practice a breeze, no more shoe laces coming undone. They worked so well that I told other cheer moms about them too.Continue reading

9 Ways To Make Learning Fun For Your KidsFeatured

Today, our children are growing up in a different day and age then we were young. They are heavily influenced by peers and technology and unfortunately the innocent means at which we used as learning experiences are no longer available to our children. It’s important for us to remember that we are our children’s first teacher and by creating a fun learning environment at home it will influence your child to have a positive outlook on learning at school.

Some days my children are overwhelmed with homework. As a result, the last thing I want them to do after learning in school all day is to have a negative demeanor towards learning. This inspired me to think outside the box and really come up with some fun ways  to not only help my children find learning exciting but yours also.

My favorite fun opportunity to help my children learn is Continue reading

35 Frightfully Fun Ideas To Help You Celebrate A Friday The 13th You Will Never ForgetFeatured

This year Friday the 13th falls in October! Quite frankly, it’s my favorite month to celebrate it in. It falls right in line with all of the other spooky Halloween celebrations that take place throughout the month of October. Who’s says that you can’t celebrate Halloween until it’s actually that day or the weekend of!?! I  sure didn’t! I’m a big fan of celebrating national holidays with family and friends, calling on every ounce of creativity to make sure my guests have an unforgettable time. That’s why I am so excited to be celebrating Friday the 13th with my family this year. In the past, I’ve done everything from girls night in’s to playdates.

This year, I’m going to celebrate with my family. Since, I’ve been in a low key mood lately we will stay in, watch scary movies, and maybe snuggle up under a Halloween throw blanket or wear cute little Halloween themed socks. I also see some Halloween inspired snacks in our future to indulge in during our movies.

The fact that it falls on a Friday for eternity makes guests smile because for most there is no school or work the next day! Adults can over indulge on spooky cocktails and the kids can stay up later playing with their friends at Boo Bash’s.Continue reading

Why You Should Schedule A One Hour Appointment With Your HusbandFeatured

So, I’m sure you are wondering why in the heck should I schedule a one hour appointment with my husband, right!?! “I see him everyday”, you’re thinking! “We text, we talk on the phone, we FaceTime, we go to sleep together at night for crying out loud!” You are probably accurate in these statements but are you truly getting the one-on-one time that a marriage needs to flourish?

Scheduling a one-on-one appoint with your husband doesn’t always have to be a negative thing. Sometimes when I tell KB I want to talk, he automatically think it’s in regards to something bad. No, this is not always the case! Some times I just want to share with him some of the new ideas I came up with. Maybe I want to tell him about some great opportunities the kids have. Often, I may just want to stare at my husband one-on-one with no distractions, no music, no television, no cell phones, no kids…just him and I. One hour a week with my husband, no distractions is not asking too much. In my opinion it’s not enough. But guess what? It’s just enough to keep your marriage and house hold functioning like a well oiled machine.

For example, I will tell KB something while we’re siting on the couch together. He’ll reply as if he was listening attentively. I’ll remind him about what I said in a few days and he’ll say you never told me that. You know why? Cause when I told him I was competing with ESPN!Continue reading

Monthly Intentions: OctoberFeatured

WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO HOLD YOURSELF ACCOUNTABLE?

SHARE YOUR INTENTIONS FOR ALL TO SEE!

Hi there! Thanks for joining me as we bid a farewell to the month of September. Hello October! Boy, did you roll around fast! I wouldn’t consider October to be my favorite month of the twelve but I must confess that it is a fun month and who doesn’t love fun, right!?!

Lately, I’ve been really big with brain dumping, goal setting, diving into my planner, calendaring and things of the such. However, I can’t say that I’ve stayed a hundred percent focused and made honest progress toward all of my goals. That’s why this month I decided to share my intentions for the month of October in hopes of holding myself accountable. I plan to do this monthly to see where I’ve been, where I’m at and where I’m headed.

The thing about Intentions are they are just that, intentions! Intention is defined as a thing intended; an aim or plan. Plans are not always set in stone but they do provide a foundation to walk toward your goals. As I take this journey, I will do my best and forgive myself where ever I fall short.Continue reading

Hotel Spotlight: Holiday Inn San Antonio – Northwest/SeaWorld AreaFeatured

This year for KJ’s 8th Birthday he requested to visit Sea World. This was a great choice in my eyes because it’s a short distance away from home which meant that no flights were needed. It was also a bonus that their water park, Aquatica, was open because the last time we went it was closed and much colder. After securing our tickets it was just one thing left to do and that was to book accommodations for our stay!

I’m a big fan of using Hotwire to book our hotels for short stays. It’s something about going all in blind that makes the process so exciting and the savings are real! After doing some research, I placed my bid. We ended up with the Holiday Inn – Northwest/SeaWorld Area. I must admit, I wasn’t the happiest at first but as I dug deeper I saw that the hotel was quite nice.Continue reading

As moms, we have good days and bad days. Some days we wake up with the energy of a 2-year-old and end the day with a smile as wide as the sea. Travel Diary: My First Experience With AeroMexicoFeatured

It’s been a while now since I’ve caught the wanderlust bug. The destinations continue to change and so do the occasions. Last year, KaRon and myself didn’t venture out of town for our anniversary. We stayed local and had a great time. However, this year I knew it was time to change our scenery so I began searching for deals for our anniversary. With so many options to choose from it seemed like a pretty continuous search but finally we caught the best deal yet. We found a great deal to Acapulco, Mexico for 4 nights, 5 days! Initially, I was worried about the safety there because the news made it sound like World War II. Eventually the fear was filled with excitement. I became a little inquisitive about flying Aeromexico though, as this would be our first time and I didn’t know what to expect.Continue reading
